A new pole carried out by a leading French estate agent has revealed that British buyers are still very passionate about property in France, despite the recent Brexit vote.
According to survey results from 1,147 British people contacted by Leggett, the top five reasons for Brits wanting to buy a home in France are:
- French culture (31%)
- Rural lifestyle (25%)
- The weather (20%)
- House prices (16%)
- Food and Drink (4.5%)
- Safe community (3.5%)
Trevor Leggett, Chairman of Leggett Immobilier, was quoted as saying: “We have always known that it is the culture, lifestyle and climate that British people love about France.
“With Juppé poised for victory in the next election and an increase of 100,000 property transactions over the past 12 months, it is clear that the French property market is on the up…”
The can be backed up by the Halcyon Developments Group who have seen sales increase in its French resort, Wyndham Halcyon Retreat, since the immediate aftermath of the Brexit vote.
