One trend that we’re thankful for and particularly passionate about is sustainable tourism. At the Halcyon Retreat, we believe in preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings and reducing our impact on the environment. That’s why we’ve invested in the most energy-efficient building techniques and sustainable materials and constantly seek new ways to be more eco-friendly. We are thrilled to have been among the pioneers in our region to install an electric car charging station, and we eagerly invite our guests to embrace the great outdoors, discover the beauty of the surrounding area on foot or by bike, and join us in our mission to promote sustainable travel.
A Haven for Wildlife
We’re proud to be creating a calm and peaceful country haven for our guests and think it only fair to extend that invitation to our wildlife guests too! We’re excited to have begun discussions with a local wildlife association to create a safe space for animals on our property, with the addition of owl boxes, bat boxes and bird feeders to encourage thriving wildlife. We’ll keep you updated on our progress throughout the year!

In addition to our commitment to sustainability, we’re also seeing a rise in the popularity of creative tourism. Guests continue to seek unique cultural experiences that allow them to immerse themselves fully in the local culture. We look forward to offering a wide range of activities that cater to this growing demand, including wine tastings, cookery classes and art workshops. We are delighted that this will give us a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with local artisans and collaborate on creative experiences that will showcase our beautiful region’s talent and culture.
Pet Travel and Tourism
As the demand for pet travel and tourism continues to rise, we are thrilled to be at the forefront of this exciting trend. Pet-friendly holidays have become increasingly soughtafter as pet owners wish to include their beloved companions in all aspects of their travel plans.
We are planning to create a pet-friendly paradise where guests and their furry friends can indulge in luxury, adventure and relaxation. Our plans include offering a variety of activities and experiences tailored to pets and their owners, from scenic walks to exclusive outdoor play areas and accommodation options.
We also understand the growing popularity of equestrian travel and a growing need for luxurious horse boarding services. Plans are already in the works to include an array of equestrian-centric amenities, from well-maintained stables to ample paddock space for horses to graze and an experienced staff on hand to offer the finest livery service.
